McKenzie Farrell is an Austin based painter and artist. As a young girl raised in West Texas, McKenzie collected agate rocks and slices. The intricate patterns and layers of the rock formed tiny worlds full of color, history and infinite detail.
Using visual cues from her life around her and combining them with past mistakes, the practice of self-love and world travel, she uses painting as a window into her deepest emotions, thus allowing the pieces to reflect a genuine part of her.
Based on the music that surrounds the room and the emotions it stirs, she never starts a painting knowing exactly how it will turn out. McKenzie often challenges herself to utilize new tools, mediums, and gripping color combinations. A fluid form of “color therapy”.
Her paintings consist of abstract fluid resin and silicone based acrylic paint on birch wood panels.
